For the National Day of Truth and reconciliation, Krista Maracle was invited to do a presentation for the Labour Community Services and Toronto & York Region Labour Council teams.
Krista Maracle is a Mohawk from the Tyendenaga Mohawk Reserve and from the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. She has been a member of the OPSEU Indigenous Circle since 2004 and has been the Chair of the OPSEU Circle since 2015. Krista is also the current Ontario Federation of Labour Vice-President representing First Nations, Metis and Inuit people. Krista works full time as a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist at the University Health Network in the Blood Transfusion Lab.
