On October 23, labour presidents and leaders across the GTA came together to kick-off the 2024 United Way Greater Toronto fundraising campaign. Everyone in attendance represented 3.3 million workers across Canada, 1 million across Ontario, and 270,000 across the GTA - a reminder and celebration of our labour movement.
Pledging to do what we can, any way we can, together, we surpassed our single-day event goal of raising more than $30,000. In 2023, union members helped raise more than 4.5 million dollars for United Way Greater Toronto throughout the campaign season. This means helping support 300 community agencies and strengthening the communities that we all work and live in.
Our work is on-going, and a dedicated United Way Greater Toronto Labour Liaison is ready and excited to support your workplace campaigns, or if you have any questions. We'd love to also share your events online - give us a heads up by emailing us at [email protected] or tagging @Labour_CS.
